Both the JCM800 and JCM900 are series consisting of many models. Typically, the 2203/2204 is "the" JCM800 that most people talk about, but the 900's are a very mixed bunch. Can you be more specific? If you haven't checked the schematic, you might even have a JCM900 without diode clipping in circuit all the time - it depends on the model.

JCM*** remove the clipping by removing the circled diodes.
Part of a non copyright schematic is attached.

Sure, unless OP has an SL-X which doesn't have those diodes in the first place.

Most schematics for the JCM series can be found here in their entirety:

No.. just check it and sell it to some idiot. Make it look and play like new and earn some profit for a JVM410Hjs. Found some timber. Sprucepanels. Just cut them it length 77 x 755 x 365 glue is drying now. Found some navy snakeskin leather with navy grill cover.. white piping. Handles wheels and stuff. Now searching for vintage 30 ‘s and greenbacks.

What are you asking for it in its current condition?
I don’t sell it in current condition.. cost me money. Working some contactgrease in the pots and checking valves and caps isn’t muvh work or money. Nice spray of cockpit spray on the tolex.. ready for the next deal.

While I wouldn't personally refer to my potential customers as 'idiots', I guess the amp isn't to your taste. To state that you would make a loss is nonsensical; you could simply add up what you've invested so far and a profit margin.

I guess I'm not the idiot you're looking for...

Don't bother bypassing the diodes. It'll lame it right out. Tried it. There are some pretty good mods for that amp but that isn't one of them. Either like it for what it is or sell it.

The only logical way to play a 900dr is max gain on clean channel. Use for crunch. It does produce a good plexi type crunch. Roll back for cleans. Channel b gain 6-7ish and use for lead and single note stuff. Definitely nothing wrong with the amp but nothing special for sure. Sell it for $700 and put it towards an 800.
