Picked up a couple of used big box stompers from Wren and Cuff. The red is from 2012, blue from 2022. Both are a little noisy but far less than what EHX has out ( I a/b'd them against a modern Big Muff). Both have the tell tale mid-scoop. If I knew how to do it, I'd convert their on-off switches to a tone stack by-pass for a little more variation. The blue has audibly more gain and some fraying around the edges compared to the red. Good sounding boxes though, with plenty of volume. Heavy, too.
Build techniques differ a little. The red has chassis mounted pots while the blue's are mounted to the circuit board.
Fuzz-fix satiated (for the moment).

The Zoom was a bit expensive but it has the box !

Cant have too many fuzz pedals, they all have their own personality.

Cheaper than Mini Cows and less poo.

Fuzz fix overdose, but whatever.

What's the story on that Pixie fuzz? I Googled around but came up with either the band or a guy in Nashville that makes pedals but nothing that looks like that. Looks like some sort of electrical junction box you'd find behind the drywall. I dig it.

The circuit is basic and does not look vintage,
It was just an impulse buy, seemed cheap for a custom fuzz.
I cant find any info online.

Fuzz is fun!

I run an eqd hoof reaper on my board after an empress distortion. I also have a korg SDD-3000 preamp pedal (albion circuit iirc) which is fuzz-esque depending on if it's flat out. I had my friends at photo booth sound design build me a tonebender mk2 (to original spec so it's a bit of a lower output with buckers) - tons of fun. I also have a WEM copycat boost at the end of my chain for a "more of everything".

I credit the JHS pedal show for their "history of fuzz" episode helping me out. I started with an ehx triangle and have had a few since@

Got some CV7003 fuzz incoming for some solid hendrix tones, I can build ac128 and silicon fuzz but getting these mil-spec OC44 is like playing russian roulette on eBay.. I'm not going to play that so instead I've gone down this route:

My first official fuzz pedal is the Lizard Queen, back ordered however. Thanks for the email heads-up from Marshall forums.

Someone suggested feeding the tube screamer into the fuzz....

This was the result... (just noodling and playing with the dials)

I did find the fuzz more reactive/expressive when the guitar goes straight to the fuzz but it was worth the experiment..
