lol...

where you grew up is also a factor.

It's like all the boots in here. Nobody here wears boots like that, unless you live in the mountains, or other wilderness area.

Most people here, dress for the beach as much as possible. Shorts & a t-shirt, or tank top. Even throughout much of the *cough* "winter"...

So wearing excess clothing here just doesn't fly...

Ever see that movie? It's hilarious. Mel Brooks movie...

These were my shoes when I lived in LA:

I don't believe I owned a single pair of flip-flops!

comfortable? good enough for daily wear?
I would say so, but I don't think I would buy them for everyday shoes if I was walking on concrete all day. The soles are a bit hard, better suited to soft soil. Good for summer outdoor activities. Hiking etc...

FWIW I have the 3/4 MOAB boots as well. I always found them to be very comfortable. Just too warm for hot summer days. We go from snow to 100 F + so it made sense to have both.

At 57, comfort is King! Sketchers have been good for me and the missus. You can wash them, reminds me of those old cloth Nike's I used to buy for $20 as a teenager.

a) your work shoes

Depending on whether I'm just having a normal office day or more ambitious stuff, semi casual trainers. Clarks Tri-Solar at the moment. For the more ambitious stuff or working in and around the house, steel toe-capped shoes. Got a couple of pairs, forget the brand. Nothing exciting - but VERY durable.

b) you going out and about shoes

Same Clarks.

c) your "just plain damn comfortable" shoes

Same Clarks, or my Tommy Hilfigers which are now falling apart (after years or good service).

Not quite those, but similar.

d) your those rare occasions shoes.

... Wellingtons for that rare occasion that I'm over my ankles in shit or water?
