Last couple of weeks I have been playing my HC LP Traditional . Through the Dsl40c’s
SD1 mxr micro chorus DD3.
I switch out guitar’s on a weekly basis, to whatever mood I seem to be in.
I have no new pics. But my YouTube channel has the clips..
some weeks I play the V. And alternate with the LP’s, an SG.

Cheers
Mitch

Some nice looking guitars on this thread! Here’s my beloved V, the only guitar I have that works, sadly. Ironically, I was a guitar tech for 8 years. You know what they say about the cobbler’s children, though.

I had that guitar, bought it new around 2003, IIRC. It was $650 and came with a gig bag. But I think mine was a slightly later model than yours, because it had dot inlays - the half moons were just prior to that I think. Either way, same guitar, 496R/500T's. I recall the first time I gigged with it was at Valentines in Albany, NY. There were 3 people with cameras taking shots of me with that guitar during the entire set. Wish I kept that one, it played and sounded great.

I was in some death metal band with a sense of humor, coffins and bones for a stage set. My name was "Vinny Dismal" and I called the guitar The Lobotomizer". :D

That band lasted 3 gigs, the drummer quit, and shortly after I left as well.

C'mon Axe, you're breakin' my balls here, kid. :D

I meant the gear your "currently' playing, like "this week" or "lately". It's not about a compendium of everything you own.

So then, which (one) map and which (one) guitar are you playing LATELY?

Been digging the Orange Super Crush into the Marshall 1965a cab.
View attachment 124333

I recently bought this Dillion PRS-copy for a good deal and reworked the electronics (new pickups from Dylan Talks Tone, CTS reverse audio taper pots, Les Paul-style pickup switch, custom milled knobs). Been playing and tweaking that.
View attachment 124332

No pics of pedal board. New Peterson tuner, MXR EQ, Joyo tremolo, cheap delay pedal.
Thoughts on the Dylan pickups?

That's gotta be a 2002 or 03? I think that is the only year of those with the crescent moon inlays. Very cool indeed!

I bought a faded V new in 2006 and it was $600. Great guitar that I should have kept.

Incredible selection. A Guitar Center not too far away had a Lonnie Mack V in the last year or so. It was $5k if I remember right and I wanted it bad...

I tend to play high gain music but love retro looking guitars.

I've been playing the '77 Gibson L6s a bit recently. Got a wild hair and wanted to change it up last night and broke out the Explorer.

For late night practice amp wise, it's been the Yamaha thr10 which is the green one. I like the "southern hi gain" mode on it. The green one is the only one that has this while the full size tan heads do not have the "southern hi gain" mode. I'm confused?

When I want volume, it is either Megatone Loki or the Splawn Super Comp with either a cheap ass Behringer To800 or Ibanez Ts mini. The Bad news is that I blew a speaker in the 4x12 and use a Peavey 1x12. When I get the funds, it's going to be back to a 4x12.

Oh yeah...that cheap Behringer to800 sounds great. Especially for the price of a case of beer. I prefer whiskey anyways but yea...get one!!

If it sounds good, it is GOOD.

What I want to be playing through?
Too much to list.
What can I afford?
Not much...

After?
Marshall 2555x Jubilee...
That way I can blend it with the Splawn and it could either cause earthquakes or gang fights? Not sure...but it sounds FUN!!

2013 LTD ED Metropoulos GMP45 head-1966 JTM45 replica. All NOS glass. Mustard caps. PEC pots.
Mather Repro Marshall 1966 JTM45/100 TVB cabinet loaded with 4 Pulsonic Celestion G12Ms.

Hiwatt DR405-Original

1969 Fender Dual Showman Rvb. I had it Blackfaced. Rvb removed, and tremolo disengaged. ODS Mod insttalled in 1st Channel. It has the ODS mod where the tone controls are disengaged in channell 1. Mod is turned on/off with the Bright Switch. Turned off, it sounds like a normal Blackface Dual Showman. Turned on, it turns into a high gain fire breather, and sounds nothing like any fender Ive even heard. The mod seems like it makes the amp 6db louder. It will hurt your ears from 10 feet away dimed. I use 2 Altec Lansing 418H speakers. Ive had the amp and speakers since 1973.

2001 Fender Cyber Twin. I put 2 NOS Mullard I61s in it, and replaced the Celestion G12T 100s with 1 Celestion 90w Cream, and 1x 150w Celestion Redback. This is my main practice amp, and grab and go amp. I bought it new in 2001. Its a highly underrated, and talked about amp. Its made to be gigged. The louder it is, the better, and less processed it sounds. The Delays, Rvb, Compression are exceptionally good. It also take pedals well, but you have to learn to use the Gain, and Trim controls. Thats the whole secret to making this amp sound great. Steve Winwood used 2 of the 2004 SE modes for 20 years. Se is Second Edition. It has more effects, but some say the first edition sounds better. Or at lest just as good. Ive been thinking about getting another one.

1971 4 bolt Strat Ive had since new

2011 Partscaster/Strat. 1982 x 57 Fullerton Reissue Body. These are my favorite Strat bodies. Love the extreme countour. Illitch Noise Reduction Blackplate. 2 original 1966 Strat pickups 1x 1965 Strat Pickup. USA Custom Guitars Neck. 1 inch fatback. 12 Radius. 5125 frets. Torrified flame maple x African Blackwood board. Gotoh SGL510Z Locking Gears. MannMadeUSA Vibrato/Bridge.

2015 Vintage Relic LTD ED 59 Burst Repro. 8.1lbs nonchambered. Used all old 50s wood. Era correct Royalite Binding, Cellulose Nitrate Inlays. Throbak M69 Rings. Tom Holmes H450-H455 pickups. Gotoh SD 510 Klusion repro gears with Tulip buttons. Mojoaxe, Guard, and backplates. Historic Makeovers V/T Ring. Pickup Selector tip, Trussrod Cover. Aniline Dyes. No plasticizer in Nitro top coat. Had it made as new. No Relicing. Im hard enough on a guitar. I dont need any help. 50s BB Caps. .015 Neck x .022 Bridge caps. 50s wiring. 6230 frets as like on a Strat. I told them if I couldnt use Strat type frets to forget it, but they said they would use any frets I wanted. Neck Pickup has magnet reversed. Earvana Nut. I was going to have a Bartlett Nylon nut installed but the Earvana stays in tune so well, and intonates so well Im afraid to muck with it. If it aint broke, dont fix it. They guys that made the guitar liked it so well they offered me 50% more than what I payed them for it, but I turned them down. I figured if it was s good they wanted to offer me 50% more than what I payed, it must be really nice. and it is. It beat all expectations. I was mainly a single coil guy since 71-2015, and when first heard this guitar I was floored on how single coil I could get it to sound. I know what they mean by it sounds like a Tele on steroids now. A buddy walked in one time when I first got it, and was floored when he saw it was a humbucking guitar. He would have sworn it was a Strat. Theres no mud from this guitar, and the tone knobs are usable from 0-10.

1982 x 62 Fullerton Reissue Strat with 3 Red Bobbin pickups. Ive had it since new. A great Strat thats second to none. I love the pickups.

Main pedals are.

MOOG MF104M Delay
Roger Mayer Vision Wah
Roger Mayer Visage Fuzz
Roger Mayer Voodoovibe+
Mayer 4644 Drive
1989 Marshall The Guv'nor
Pete Cornish 3Q1/Boost
MOOG Minifooger Drive
Butler 5 knob Tube Driver
2010 Timmy with LM 1458 chip.
Roger Mayer RM58 Limiter-Or the Mayer 615 Limiter. I use RM58, or 615 as an Attenuator. Better than any Attenuator, or Master volume ever made. You ant even tell its on. Huge frequency esponse. 10hz-100,000khz. The 4644 Drive and the 615 are made to work with each other. 4644 Drive is my favorite Low/Medium Gain Drive. It makes a Timmy sound like its got a blanket on it. Works great with either single coils, or humbuckers. The single Tone Control is more like a Harmonics shifter, than a tine control. It basically shfts the harmonics around, and makes it extremely easy to match the harmonics of any pickup, or emphasize, upper, or lower harmonics on any pickup. The 4644 also wont do mud. It says harmonically rich while emphasizing the lower harmonics. Again this is not reaally a Tone control, and wont get really Bassy. It just sublty shifts the harmonics. The 615 is a smaller version of the RM58, but doesnt have as much control as the RM58. RM58 also has no perimeters, has no set limits. It instantly reacts to whatever its fed.

2004 EHX Blackfinger with NOS Mullard I61
2x First Release Chase Tone Secret Preamps. Uses same parts as original EP3 Preamp.
2004 Analogman White Dot NKT 275 Sunface/Sundial
EHX Big Muff with Cornish Mods

Ive got all kinds of speakers
4 original Fane 100w Cresendo A. Theyre in a 1972 Sound City cabinet.
2 Rawson Sparfield Starfinders, which are accurate repros of the Fane Cresendo A. Theyre in 2 x 1 x 12 TL806 cabinets, with the ports blocked off.
2 Celestion 90w Creams i TL806 cabinets
2 150w Velestion Redbacks in 1 x 12 TL806 cabinets. I also had these cabinets made with 3 piece backs, so I can run the semi open back, but I dont use the Ports, because they are tuned for EV12L, and I dont have any EV12Ls
8 JBL D120s in 2x 4 x 12 1970 Sunn Cabinets. Ive also got the Sunn Coliseum Lead Head, but dont use it much, though its the best sounding solid state amp Ive ever heard.
2x Hemp coned JBL E120s in TL806 cabinets.
4 x 10 Fane AXA 10s.
4 x 10 Altec 425H
4 Altec 418H
2 Altec 421A
15in speakers are highly underrated, and are some of my favorite speakers.
4 Pulsonic Celestion G12Ms.

Tim at TRM Cabinets made all of the TL806 cabinets. All of them are 3/4 ply, and 3/4 baffles.

2004 EHX Blackfinger with NOS Mullard I61
2x First Release Chase Tone Secret Preamps. Uses same parts as original EP3 Preamp.

Thread is about gear you're currently playing, not an invitation to list all the gear you own. This is the second time someone didn't read the thread title:

Rehearsal for a project today. Unfortunately it involves bit of a trek on foot to get there most of the time. So I'm grabbing some of my lighter gear.

Mildly hotrodded Harley benton SC-Custom
Joyo meteor 20w head
Normal gig pedalboard.. its the heaviest bit because the amp and all the cables are in there too.

There's an ENGL 412 in the room already so, good to go. I'll grab a pic in a couple hours when it's all set up.

As per

walter Carter. I have the first LM made for retail sale.

I bought it at Freehold Music on Jan. 194 for $750.00 + $100.00 for the case.

A 2002 Tokai 'Love Rock' with an EMG 'Super 77'-pickup set and an EMG RPC middle booster @18 Volts.
IMG20230204145729-01.jpeg

A pedal board connected with a 4-wire method. An upper row in an fx-loop, and a lower in front of the amp.
IMG20230204145818-01.jpeg

An Origin 50 with a preamp modded after 1987's bright input. A power attenuator and a fake Marshall 1x12" cab with a Greenback in it.
