Been listening to a lot of Stones since I have been working from home the last 3 years.
Loving Tattoo You this am.......Digging this song;

Every man is the same, come on
I'll make you a star
I'll take you a million miles from all this
Put you on a pedestal
Come on (come on, come on)

Have you ever heard those opening lines?
You should leave this small town way behind
I'll be your partner, show you the steps
With me behind, you're tasting of the sweet wine of success

'Cause I'll, I'll take you to the top, baby (hey, baby)
I'll take you to the top
I'll take you to the top, baby
I'll take you to the top

Step on the ladder, toe in the pool
You're such a natural, you don't need no acting school
Don't need no casting couch or be a star in bed
And never, never let success go to you pretty head

'Cause I'll, I'll take you to the top, baby
I swear I would never gonna stop, baby
I'll take you to the top
Don't let the world pass you by
Don't let the world pass you by
Don't let the world pass you by
You take your chance now, baby
I'm sorry for the rest of your sweet loving life, baby
Oh, sugar

I recommend buying Hot Rocks and HONK. Hot Rocks is 1964-1971, and HONK is everything else after that.

From what I understand, the rights to the pre-'71 Stones catalog are owned by ABKCO, while the Stones after '71 are under their control and licensed through BMG.

So it's hard to get good compilations mixing all the years together but the above two compilations are the best deal in town for a Stones collection. You'll have 50 songs between them.

Yeah Tattoo was a good one. Waiting on a Friend, Little T&A, Start Me Up, Black Limousine. I don't revisit that one very often though.
I actually probably have fonder feelings for Emotional Rescue which was not so well received- if I recall correctly.

The last truly great Stones disc, IMHO.

I can see that although I really liked Undercover back in the day. Listened to it lots.

The best band in the world for a decade, and a below-average band for several decades after that...

'Tattoo you' is too late for me, I'm afraid.

Great Band

Speaking of "painting it black", was this colored from a B&W version or something? The color grading is awful!

Also "live" is a stretch ;)

I like Ron. I like the chemistry between him and Keith. Probably one of the reasons I like the later era.
For me the era around Main Street has the best material though.
I love the old New Barbarian vids floating on youtube.

I think I'm pretty much against bands that need a lot of help to get their sound across.

The Eagles need help with extra musicians.

I think that's why I admire Rush so much.

A lot of acts need help.

Having said that, I love the songs of The Stones.

I'm such an anachronism.
