I just got one. Put it in a 112 cab underneath my SC800H. I play rock to hard rock mostly. Not going for modern heavy by an means.

This thing is an animal! Loving it paired with the toppy bitey 800 epicness. I love the V30 with it too but I'm having a blast ripping this cone of rediculousness. Yay Fucking Celestion! It has "thwack"!

I will be getting a quad of Redbacks and inserting them in my Iconic 412 cab. The cab is a bit toppy/harsh with standard greenbacks or like speakers. Needs a little boost in the ass end.

Found this vid of a 412 of them with a Hammer. Wished he would of show cased soloing a bit more. Oh well still enjoyed his vid. Choice of amp, cab etc

Yeah, Redbacks are nice! Man, a whole 4x12 full of ‘em? You could play two Majors in stereo through the same cabinet!

I didn't even know about em' until I saw a Pete Thorne vid where one is used in a 112 Soldano cab. Liked how it sounded and got one. My ears were right!

Yah they should spice that Iconic cab right up. :D

The guy is a bit of a dork, but a good review:

This made me inventory what I'm using right now.

1. 5153 412- 4 Heritage 20 watt greenies.
2. Orange PPC 412- 2 H30'S/2 V30'S
3. DSL40C - Celestion Gold
4. Monoprice 15 watt combo - Celestion Blue
5. OS 112- Zak Black Label EV
6. BB 112 cab- Redback

Laying around 70/80's, K100, EVH Iconic cab speakers, V series, GB128's, Jenson Falcon.

Also my Redback is revealing more Top end now. In these vids it seems a bit dark to me but I'm getting plenty of full frequency. Little turns from the EQ are noticeable. No over compensating for any at the pots.

Stoked to get 3 more and fill the Iconic 412. :eddie:

sounds good but the 800 IMO is the a poor tester (like Boosts/ODs) as everything sounds good through one.

GBs, 65s, 75s, V30s, K100s, prob some of those 70/80s… whatever we all know more than a few famous artists who did dazzling shit with a 2203/4 and one of these models..

My 1959 has a very different appreciation for pedals and speakers… much more discriminating w both for whatever reasons (Wouldn’t be shocked it might go well with this speaker, but that could depend on the highs.)

I have used Redbacks for a few years now , except , I paired two red backs with two 150 watt 8 ohm Eminence Tonkers and put them in a smaller Marshall 4x12 cab that used to sport 4 35 watt speakers .
Now it's a 600 watt cab that can handle anything you throw at it and ask for more. Absolutely Love Them in this configuration .

Do not like the Creambacks. Do not like the K100.

Love the Vintage 30 and of course the Redback.
Dave Friedman has been using red backs for a while in his higher powered combos . The cream backs were blowing up too regularly and in trying the red back due to its higher power handling discovered that they sounded better as well .

The 'Twin Sister' 40W combo does indeed have a Redback as the stock speaker.
I'm really liking the idea of a 'Twin' channel amp instead of a 'Two' channel amp.
You can set the same channel two different ways.

I’ve recently bought a synergy syn 1 and Friedman BE module which has two identical BE channels which useful in more ways than you’d think 👍
