Starting to dig the amps own gain, this is definitely old school type gain. I like setting it for just some classic rock crunch, here is just a little clip playing around. I plugged straight in and have some reverb in the loop Master about 11:00 and Gain was close to max (No Boost) and using the Medium power setting, using my 4x12 cab with V30s/V12s
I've got a Friedman BE-OD Deluxe coming in a couple of days I'll leave the heavy tones to that pedal so for now I'm enjoing plugging straight in.

Sounds good! I had one for a short while, favorite setting was volume dimed and gain on 7 in low power setting. Try that see what you think. :yesway:

Oh I have tried the Master dimed as well but in the low power setting in the 3 Watt mode its F'n loud but some Rock'n fun for sure! only thing I dont like about cranking the Master/Gain is the FX loop becomes useless to me I'm not crazy about a totally dry tone!

I just caught some badass playing right here! Sounds great! Been loving mine with a Boss SD-1, FatRat and a Tumnus.
Thought about trying a Tumnus or some type of a Klon type OD, but not sure if it would be to mid focused.

I too plug straight in to my ORI20C and bask in the glory of old school guitar/amp tone. I do have a few pedals that I occasionally fiddle with but before an hour has passed they're back on the shelf.........none of them add anything I require. Hurrah for tube tone!

Sounds like an Marshall to me, nice job bro. :applause:

This is how I like to see/hear tone clips, straight in, no pedals. Just the amps basic rhythm guitar tones,… to start with.

Back in the early 70's we used Plexis and as with a lot of gear it gets sold to pay the bills, but I just got delivery today of an Origin20, and just as the ornaments vibrated off the mantlepiece when I was a 16yr old lad with very little sense, my neighbours are just gonna love me again..Have my eye on a little Blue Whale Tone Master (cheap as chips on sale at the moment) to pair up with the Origin and a LP and 'at my signal, unleash hell' 😜

I returned my Tumnus. I found it underwhelming, heavier mids than I expected, and too much bass. A Timmy would work great with that! As would a Snouse Black Box Overdrive 2. Both will keep your tone intact. They both feel like the amp has another gain stage.

Although I waited a year and a half for the Black Box!

AWESOME! I just grabbed an Origin 50 combo for cheap. Mint condish! The previous owner put in a Vintage 30, so I'm way ahead of the game.
I dialed in just a touch of hair, then set my BE-OD at 12 o'clock across the board. Rapture! Kicking on the boost makes a difference too.
I wasn't sure I would like a single channel amp, having had the 900 and a slew of Mesas in the past. But this combo is sweet. May have to pop for the head......but is the matching cabinet up to snuff?

Almost got the 50W head but opted for the 20W, The matching cab has Seventy 80 speakers which IMO are not that bad but most seem to hate them. I have another 1x12 cab that has a Greenback in it thats probably my favorite speaker with this amp!
