I wouldn’t bother running vintage power valves unless your really cranking the amp

Get a Blackburn made Mullard ECC83 for V1 and your good to go
Agree w pulsonicsound about dropping a proper vintage Mullard in V1. That will make the most significant improved tonal impact w tubes. For power tubes, I’ve had good luck w JJ’s, especially in the higher voltage Marshall’s.

Respectfully ignore suggestions about modding a ‘69 Super Bass. Definitely a different beast from your 1987. Much more headroom with the Super Bass, where the 50 Lead was designed to break up much sooner. And total midrange focused, where SB has a broader dynamic range. Start with mid knob on 10 and Bass on 0 then adjust from there. For gain, just wind it out btw 8-10.

If you want a little more top end clarity at lower cleaner settings, an easy non-evasive mod is to put a 100pf bright cap across Vol 1, if it’s not there already.

A Super Bass w Hot Plate into Pulsonics with P-90’s straight in. My kind of player.

Another thing worth having your tech check is to possibly add 5.6k grid resistors. ‘69’s usually didn’t have them. Purists may disagree, but for running hard at higher volumes, they’ll contribute significantly to making the amp bulletproof.

I can attest, a hot plate with some a LP special. Control everything from your tone and volume knobs. You’ll go from Strat like glassy cleans to a roar that sounds like you have a fuzz on. No pedals needed unless you want some verb or delay.
