One of those great days! 1971 Super Tremelo and Super Lead

I had one of those epic acquisition day’s earlier this week. An add popped up for a Super Tremolo and a Super Lead. I have been gassing for a Super Tremolo, so I jumped on it and told the dude I would take them both. Then he asked me if I want a cab for $500 and I told him I would consider it when I got there. Needless to say, the cab looked mid 70’s so I bought too. Once I got home and started looking everything over I determined the Super Tremolo is a 1971. It’s missing a knob and it needs a 3 prong chord. The Super lead is also from 1971. It’s missing 2 of the 4 speaker Jack in the back so there have have been a mod done. The speaker cab has 1978 Black back GH12 T1281’s and the badge on the back says it’s a 1935 model cab. It’s got 3 of the 4 original Homa castors. Does any one know where I could find one? I’ll be taking them in for servicing in the next couple weeks. I’ll post some guy shots for you then.

It was truly ridiculous. I was 3 hours away and worried someone would offer extra money to get it before I got there. Fortunately, it worked out!

Perhaps gut shots before you take them for servicing would be a better idea, there are tech's out there who know they're stuff, but the best knowledge is right here.......

Also good for record if you get something taken out that should have stayed or at least a record of the Iron, just in case.

I've been gassing for a pre-'73 100 watt Super Lead for some time now..If I could find a '71 that would be awesome, as it would match up with my '71 B cab.

Yeah, listen to the folks here..Don't let a sub-par tech do a bunch of changes to those amps they don't need..Keep them as stock as possible.

Also, that older iron is getting pretty pricey, an unscrupulous tech might put in a newer piece and then sell the original..It happens.
