New Marshall Amp Clone Day. Ceriatone JCM800 2204 style.
Wow! This amp sounds amazing. The 3-way bright switch changes voicing enough to add real versatility. It's also equipped with a buffered effects loop. Absolutely love the tone. Started out plugging straight in. Nothing in the loop. Pure Classic Rock tone!
But, I have a stereo, multi-amp setup. And I've put the new amp into my setup.
I have a de Lisle amp/speaker switcher. The three amp heads that share one 2x12 cab. An SC20H, a JCM 2000 DSL 50, and the new Ceriatone JCM 800 2204 HW. Plus, an SC20C is part of this setup. (I have other amps, Fender, Mesa, Rivera, etc., that are completely autonomous.)
More detail, if you're interested.
Guitar to pedalboard. Wah/Fuzz/Octave/Boost/OD/Dumble/Compression and Chase Secret Preamp style pedals in front of the amps. The signal from there is split with a Radial Engineering A/B/Y. One of the two outputs goes to the SC20C, which as long as it's powered on, is always the other amp in my stereo setup. The primary amp can be any of the amp heads. With the de Lisle, I just turn a knob to choose an amp. That switches the input as well as the effects loop to target one of amp heads.
The de Lisle allows an attenuator to be attached and shared by all the amp heads. A Captor X in my case. With an on/off switch to enable and disable the attenuator easily.
All of the pedals in the effects loop are stereo modulation pedals with with L/R jacks. One side of the stereo modulation goes to the SC20C. The other side of the stereo modulation goes to the de Lisle. So I can switch amp heads easily, as described above.
It's a fun setup. I'm a tinkerer and enjoy all this, even if it's not the kind of thing some others would do.
And finally, an obligatory gut shot of the new Ceriatone.
