Just added the JHS 3 series Reverb pedal to my board it was on sale for $84 and it sounds great, nice simple reverb.

Would 1 25W Celestion Greenback be able to handle the Origin 20 safely, I would love to get a greenback again but have a feeling I would need a speaker with at least a 50W rating.
At high volume the speaker might flatten out tone wise. Least that's what one of my 412's I had years ago did when I pushed those GB's a bit too hard.

An Eminence GB128 would be great power handling and it's definitely GB voiced. I have a few of them. Haven't been disappointed yet. Price is great too!

EDIT: I see the price went up $30.
Bummer. Everything gone up!

A 2525c 20 watt Studio combo comes with a Greenback 25 watt speaker @J.LaGrassa, it has come with a 25 watt Greenback since it was released in 2015. I’ve never heard any complaints about it.

I know it seem a bit close to have a 25 watt speaker for a 20 watt amp, (especially a 20 watt Marshall), but it seems to work. I do know that Celestion speakers are well known for being very robust and able to handle higher wattage that recommended.

If a Greenback 25 can handle a 20 watt Studio amp, it can certainly handle a Origin20.

If you’re a bit uneasy about a 20 watt speaker @J.LaGrassa, you could always get a Creamback 65 which will do the trick superbly!

I’ve got 2-1-12 cabs, one wit a Greenback 25 and the other is a Creamback 65. Using my SC20 the Creamback sounds so much better to my ears.

It has a better low end, and it has more headroom and when compared side by side with my SC20, the Greenback is noticeably thinner sounding.

Thanks for all the input, I may just look for a CB65 or a creamback neo and play it safe. I'm in no hurry I do like the V-Type I'm using now.
I think a Creamback with this amp would be too smooth and sit back some of the openness. many like this speaker cause it smooths out a toppy amp. Me? I like the teeth on these Origins. They can be flubby or wooly as it is. I use EVH GB's with my 50 ORI and it sounds excellent. R&R!

You may be fine with a 25 watt greeny. A GB128 Eminence would increase volume due to its speaker efficiency(101.3db)

Legend GB128: Offers cleaner vintage British voiced tone with a round, punchy low end, warm, throaty mids and very open and clear highs.

Congratulations, these are nice amps and offer some flexibility.
I’ve had my O20H going on two years, mostly running through 2 1x12 cabs (25w Greenback and V-Type). I personally prefer the V-Type. It seems a little smoother to me which I like but others prefer something else. Hope you find the speaker or speakers you like. FWIW, I think you would be safe with one 25w Greenback.

Thanks, I may just stick with the V-Type I'm starting really like that one!

Finally broke down and got back into Marshall amps again, picked up a Origin 20 Head. So glad I got this model it sounds great. I plugged it into my oversized 1x12 with a Celestion V-Type in it and used my Friedman Golden Pearl and Smallbox OD to drive it for some heavy crunch and was thrilled at how well these pedals sound with the amp set mostly clean, the 3 position wattage control worked great the low mode was perfect for keeping it quiet... i'm digging this setup more than when I was using the DSL.

I did the same, though I purchased the combo version. I plug the combo into a Traynor 1X12 cab which contains a 12" Celestion Greenback. Amazing sound!! For those who own the combo, plug the internal speaker in the amp 16 Ohms output and a cab at also 16 into the other one. It sounds great!

I use a Boss DS-1 with it. It does a great job. For solos, I activate the amp's boost, resulting in an increase in volume. Like this, I get 3 channels: a clean, crunch, and a little more dirty and louder. For practice, small gigs, the combo on its own does well (easy to carry around); for larger ones, the combo and the cabinet.

I must say nothing looks as good as a head and a cab though.

Congrats to you as well, maybe someday I will get the 2x12 vertical cab... although I don't really need it.
