I bought a Moskey Silver horse to try out the klon sound this old man has been hearing about .....well .....B U S T my B R I T C H ES .... damn , that thing sounds good ! It sounds good by itself or stacked in front of everything else . I drove it on the blue channel of my 5150III 50 watt and my 2012 Les Paul studio solid body with the silver horse gain at 11 o'clock and the treble turned down to 9 o'clock ....unbelievable , I don't have $5000 + for a used klon but this will certainly do for $30 bucks . I bought a wish klon clone and the Moskey blows it away .

That's a great find for the price of a tone generator. Congratz!

I recently got a Klon like pedal for the first time. Never been that interested over the clips I've heard. There was this upper mid clarity I heard in the one I bought. It panned out. Was better in person and makes my Ori 50 sound really good. Which is why I wanted the pedal. Just for that amp.

Anyways if it sounds good It's a win especially at that price. Enjoy!

Thanks I'm discovering all kinds of new tones , I stack the Silver horse in front of a 78 EHX big muff pi , with the sustain on the big muff turned down low , it was a very different tone produced when played together and I loved it , then I stack it with a behringer tube screamer knock off on the clean channel , ...hot digity damn ! it was sweet . I'll play it until something breaks but for now I'm loving it.
Take care and stay safe.

I started building pedals because I wanted a Klon. When I plugged it in the first time, I thought “oh, now I get it.” Yeah, they’re awesome.
That's exactly how I felt when I played the silver horse . speaking of building pedals , have you read the book , The Stomp Box Cookbook , it has some interesting projects I want to try .

Happy new pedal day or week or whenever it appeared in your arsenal.

My ex's brother ordered one of these Moskey Klon clones and he let me barrow it for awhile. I personally wasn't wowed by it BUT I was using it with a Orange Crush (12? it had the 1x8 speaker) so not the best set up to experience it. Plus I was playing one of those cheap Ibanez AX guitars so definitely not the best set up to judge a pedal. I still haven't properly checked out any Klones besides that but am getting the craving for one. I might revisit the Moskey as it's a damn good price and see how it sounds on my real rig.

Enjoy man! Have fun and Happy New years!

I built a Ghostdrive klon clone kit from stewmac and love it. Works great as just a boost, but has much more pleasing distortion than most pedals with the gain past 12 o'clock. Seems to Add some kind of harmonic "sparkle" as well.

I wound up building 2 more for friends and they feel the same way.

Real centaur 5k plus?..truth.. they're not worth anywhere near that, but for $100 and a couple hours build time this clone is a bargain.

Happy New Year !!!! The Mosky sounds best to me with a full blown tube amp , it pushes a tube screamer on the clean channel with a ( Strat ) very well . I have a wish klon clone as well , it sounds ok but not as bright as the Mosky , I think the Mosky has true treble boost rather than just treble reduction like a tone control . I boosted a 78 big muff that I've had since then and I was wowed by the tone.
for $30 bucks I've had a lot of fun with it . I might tinker with building some pedals , I have a book on it that's been in my library for years and I've never read it LOL .
Take care and keep on Jammin :jam:

just boosted my Marshall AVT 150H with the mosky and the wish klon clones, .....un F N Believable , used a mixer to decrease the 3 and 6 Khz range , a slight bump on the 1khz and a slight bump on the 100 and 200 hz for a little thump , then a tiny bit of compression , and Wa Lah ,,,,Magic !!! . I didn't care much for that AVT 150 before, the overdrive channels were not that great, I liked playing the clean channel with distortion boxes through a 150 watt amp , but now , with the klon clones , this amp is a whole different animal , I'm Loving It !! ba , ba, bop, Ba, Baaaaa!!!!

I've found my s.s. amps like my klon clone as well...strange that the only one that I haven't tried it with yet is the AVT50H.
You have to try it with the 150H , the 150 didn't sound too bad with really hot humbuckers and the gain turned up but it was always muddy , now with the klon clones I can turn the gain down to 10 oclock on both overdrive channels and boost it with the Mosky silverhourse which is a little brighter than the wish klon , the tone is amazing , to me anyway .
the wish clone excels in the bottom and mid tones and the Mosky excels in the mid and high frequency tones .

I've only seen it on utube in an ab test . did you use the soul food as a booster for your overdrive channels ? or you could boost ( soul food )with no gain , the out put of a tube screamer on the clean channel , I would add a little bottom end with a 7 band eq to give it some thump.

@paul-e-mann The Marshall AVT 150H is kicking ass with the silver horse boosting the overdrive channels , used a compressor to take a little bit of the edge off and a little bass with the EQ pedal .
I'm playing in stereo with my Mesa dual rec , and it's a perfect match .

With the EHX SF; the way I am currently using it (for cleans boost) is to start with the volume set to just above unity gain, *drive off, and the treble at 1 O'clock.
*Depending on the amps output volume, the Gain knob on the EHX SF has very little play for tweaking (0-1), as does the Treble knob on the EHX SF that has usable tones from 12 to 3 O'clock. Start there, then fine tuning with your ears; to include your amp.
I am glad that I had revisited this klon klone because it was not what I thought at first, having both the Gold and Silver. If I go past the thresholds I have previously posted through the SV head, it gets completely unusable for my needs. Why I am currently using it for a cleans boost. It fattens things up in a good way.

I have not tried the Soul Food yet it sounds like a good pedal . Using the two clones I have , the clean channel gets used much more , they do add richness to the clean tones , but I also turn the gain up on the clean channel then boost it with the clones on low or no gain , just enough to make a single coil sing or adds a little more gain on the clones to make humbuckers or single coil roar with that mid chime everyone seems to enjoy . I'm still trying out new configurations with the Mosky Silver Horse and the Wish Golden horse , the wish clone has more bottom and a bigger sound ( higher volts I guess ) . the mosky has stronger mids and top end , I've been having a blast playing with my new toys !
Speaking of fat clean tones , you should try a Joyo AC Tone hooked up to the return on your amp and use it as the pre amp ( voice and drive set at 9 O'clock , high at 9 , mid at 10 and bass at 2 o'clock volume at what ever you want )
play on clean channel , that combo sounds better than the amp's clean channel . at least on my amps and the bottom end is out of this world on the AC Tone .
