Hi to all, this is my first thread. I've got a Valvestate 8080 with this fuzzy sound in the dirty channel, in OD1 and OD2... i thought that the 12AX7 was the problem but the valve seems to be still good... is there someone who had the same problem? Cheers from Argentina!

:welcome: to the forum.
Tubes may "look" good, but not function correctly.
Do you have a spare 12AX7 to change out and see if you still have the problem?

Thanx for the answer! I think I have a 12at7 to change, maybe is less power but at least is useful to try, don't you think?
Yes, it may give you a little less gain, but see if it changes your fuzzy sound.
Most tube amp issues are caused by tubes, so try to eliminate that before looking for other sources of the problem.

Welcome to the MF @Max Espinosa

If the 12AX7 in your 8080 was the original it could be up to 28 years old!
I changed the (no name) tube in my 1997 VS65R and it fixed some strange artefacts I was hearing on the OD channel.
Try a JJ ECC83S. Cheap and effective.
