Hello,

I think that guy's demos are great!

Remember that the Marshall JVM2 series does have the "OD2" channel of the JVM410H, so it's a bit more scooped in the mids than "OD1" and goes into the Dual Rectifier direction.
So imho that makes the direct comparison even more interesting to these other amps which are in a similar ballpark.

Another one with the regular EVH 5150III and 2205:

What can I say,,,

I ❤️ the JVM!

Love 💞 my Evh

The JVM and the EVH are both excellent amps for hi gain sounds!
I had an EVH 5150III 50W too and really liked the blue channel.
It was a lot of fun to play and I took my time to decide wether I keep the JVM or the EVH.
But went with the JVM because it has the Marshall Kerrang and is a bit more versatile imho.

The guy who made the videos above also was one of the first who compared the JVM and the EVH many years ago.
I also watched them back then.
Imho he deserves more views!

The way he has them dialed they all sound very close to the same to me. Id have to hear them in a live mix while I played to be able to pick one. The marshall seemed a little less bright but it was still in the ballpark.

Yes, it's fascinating.

The cab and speakers (or at least the IR he uses) are the same and that has a huge impact on the overall sound.

In the second video you'll hear the different mids' voicing between the JVM210H and the 2205 though - and the JB in the Edwards Les Paul helps to pronounce it even more.
