**Looking to get an Epiphone LP Custom Pro. What do y'all think?**

As a Strat player for many years, I'm finally ready to delve in to the world of LPs. Surprisingly, many of my favorite players use LPs but I never liked the baseball bat necks.

Forward...the Epiphone LP Custom Pro looks fantastic and very inviting. Slim taper neck is right up my alley. Probuckers have great reviews, though I still want to try my Super D. It's a gorgeous looking instrument.

There's seems to be nothing but favorable reviews. I'm not able to try a bunch out to find the one, so it's going to be a one time shot.

Anyone here with one? What's your take?

Because the amps were turned up to an outdoor gig level, and I can’t capture my origin for shit with my iPhone

That's the kind of hiss that's there when you have tube amps cranked up loud. That's good hiss. We like that hiss. It's supposed to be there.

not misleading at all. the example you gave is over expectation.
anybody that tries to comare a chinese watch to a rolex for any
reason has other issues altogether and thats usually used as a defense
move more than any other two guitar companies ever. kinda makes me wonder why that is?
i bet i know lol. "hey look at my $700 Epiphone guitar" the other guy, "yeah but its not as nice as mt $2,500
gibson". its like playing who has the bigger dick to be honest. a game often played by the
insecure isnt it?

I wasn't taking a dig at your point, just saying that the 'ratio' is like a formula. It doesn't specify a quantity or quality, merely how to calculate two factors. Of course my example was completely out of proportion, I wasn't implying that was the sort of difference between a Gibson and an Epiphone, I was using extremes to clarify the bit about formula vs results. I failed at that, it seems. It's a bit of a pet peeve when I read reviews that the bottom line is generally based on that factor, at which point I tend to think it's rather irrelevant because you don't know how deep the reader's pockets are. "Is this worth so much more of my money?" is something only the buyer themselves can ever answer.

Agree totally on the dick size game, I believe we recently discussed my hunt for a decent Epi LP and how I ended up with a Gibson. My dick still feels about the same size, to be honest. There's always a bigger dick. As you mention; the bindings, the deluxe tuners, the unicorn tear polish, the unobtanium coated bridge, bla bla. When I get myself an ES-335 or a Casino, I'll be straight back on the CP Epi trail if the second hand market doesn't work out.

A good player will make an Epi sound much better than a poor player with a Gibson. Why do you think I have that Gibson...?!?

I've owned around 10 epi les pauls in my time, everything from cheap standards to the slash and ace frehley models with dimarzios and symour duncans. But in my opinion I will always come back to the feel of my Gibson LP studio over every epiphone if had. I bought the studio for the same price as the two high end epiphones and have kept the gibson over both. It doesnt have the flashy finishes, sounds almost as good as the high end pickups. But plays and feels so much better, especially the nitro finish vs the poly.
