JMP 2203 all original?

I'm on the lookout for JMP 2204 or 2203 and came across with a promising 1978 JMP 2203 Canadian import model. Everything to me looks good, but the only thing concers me is the power transformer. It appears to be Drake, but the sticker is unreadable and according the seller the code is TH353A. Is this a right code for Drake PT for Canadian 2203? Also, does everything else look as it should? Thank you.

You're asking about the power transformer, but the output transformer has no saddle clamps and that's always an alert that the transformer could be a replacement.

Are you getting mixed up about which transformer is which? The one in the middle is the output transformer.

I'm not saying that they ALWAYS put saddle clamps on both transformers but so far as I know, they were standard practice and I don't know of any JMP Marshall that definitely shipped without them. I may simply be not fully informed.

Look at the bottom of the power transformer. That's a saddle clamp. There should be one on the OT as well, normally.

Thank you. Good point regarding the missing OT saddle, definitely a red flag. Yes, i was asking about the PT. I believe the "DE TH353A" sticker is on the side of the PT, hard to tell from the picture, though.

Probably 2 red flags seeing how anal CAN was about electrical safety standards. 78 was the most loose “anything goes” year of the JMP but I’d guess the least amount of fuckery went into CAN models for governmental standards reasons.

DE is for Dagnall Electronics. There were Drake trannies on 50 watters and Dagnall trannies on 100 watters. To me, the PT looks original. But yes, the OT looks like a replacement (still a Dagnall OT though). Generally, the brackets on OT trannies were only on 100 watters, not on the 50 watters.

There certainly are 50 watt OT sized saddle brackets. I have a pair of spares. Yes they are a bit smaller than the 100 watt specific type.

First 100-watt chassis I've ever seen in a head box that doesn't have a vent on top. That head box is typically designated for 50-watters.

I decided to pass on the 1978 JMP 2203 Canadian import model due to most likely replaced OT.
I found another 1979 JMP 2203 that looks pretty good, but would need some of you experts to to take a look and comment if everything looks correct? The only concern to me is that there’s no sticker or stamped serial number on the power transformer, even though it looks original? I’d appreciate any input?
