As the title says,

I have spent a year and a half saving for the right amp, (Silver Jubilee) Pedals (MXR EQ and Q Zone etc) Guitar (Slash Signature) Pickups (Slash Signature), microphones and settings to record the following.

This is 100% his current live setup rig (granted without the amp totally cranked), I would love to hear your feedback as to whether you think it was all worth it

Please be hyper critical.

No offense intended here, but I just don't understand investing serious time, effort and money into being an imitator. You obviously have skills........why not use them to be original? Certainly we all steal a few licks/riffs from high profile professionals but weaving such thefts into our own musical vocabulary is what makes guitar playing the magical mystery tour that it is.

Hey!! No offence taken whatsoever! It’s a very valid point - I think it’s pretty obvious I’m a fanboy of slash but I do have my own stuff (which has gotten some radio play etc) I don’t want to self promote too much but if you search for “Leaders and Lunatics” you’ll get my original stuff. My latest release is kind of like a mix of audioslave and slash lead, it uses the spoken words of politicians as the lyrics!

Great job sir! You hit it. I love the challenge of chasing the tones of the icons. Usually most of those tones don't quite work for me in my own music and playing, but the way I see it, you have a rig that can do anything you want it to do. And it's a great learning experience. Fantastic setup!
How are you running the Jube?
Love the Les Paul, how do you like it? I usually steer clear of signature gear but I've heard positive things about that guitar.

Thank you so much!! Running the Jube with exact settings I have from his live rig and an MXR Eq right on the front of the amp. LOVE the signature. Heavy as a rock and fat ass neck just the way I like it :)

The funny thing is other than hearing them in NITL tour in 16, I have little personal reference to Slash’s live tone, and you have the studio recording with a different Marshall.

My thoughts are that Slash nerds may praise or pick apart your tone for what his current tone is like or against the UYI tone on the 5%-15% that the VH nerds do on Brown Sound comparisons, but the tone is very good and squares w my mind about what that solo should sound like.

IDK whether all that gear was worth the $ for the specific task mentioned compared to buying cheaper this or that, which would deliver the very tone, +/- x% deviation, but I seem to have doubts that sounding closer to Slash’s live tone was the sole motivator in spending thousands. Regardless, you spent a lot of money on gear that sounds good in your hands, which is more than can be said for some.
