My dear friend and fellow Marshall freak and I have been trading gear back and forth for years. Five years ago I ended up with one of his JMP2203s that had a Partridge OT and EL34's. Me being me [the AntiTolex] I built a head shell for it -

Sounds great but I'm slowly drifting to the Marshall NMV circuits - 1987 [he built this one] and 1959 - as my preferred sound. He told me if I sell it he wanted first dibbs. I contacted him this week to see if he would take the 2203 back and built me a 1959 that could run KT66s as I have a pile of them.

He said yes as I hoped he would. This is a three-fer - I get to move an amp and the extra headshell, enjoy a new amp and get to build another headshell.

Like the title says - I'm excited but I have to wait...

After much back and forth - do this but not that - all in the filtering and rectification sections I put away the swiss army amp delusions and told him to build a straight up JTM 45/100 - Clapton era. His friend has an original JTM 45/100 PA [replaced tranny] and he reported it sounded monstrous.

Now we're waiting on the trannies from Mercury...
