I didn’t believe this a few years ago. I believe it now! Well said!Congratulations!!! I’m a firm believer that you don’t lose when you’re knocked down, you lose when you stop trying to get back up.

Congratulations!I will be celebrating 4 years of sobriety from drugs and alcohol later this month. 4 years ago to this day I was on the streets and homeless with nothing. No job, car, family, friends, and my guitar gear had long been sold to pay rent when I couldn’t hold down a job due to my issues with drugs and alcohol. I hadnt played guitar for about 7 years at this point. I ultimately went to rehab and got sober. After a couple years of being sober someone gave me a very cheap pink dean strat and a solid state vox practice amp encouraging me to get back to playing. I was so rusty and had no confidence in my playing. After playing for many hours over months of time everything came back and then some. I slowly started upgrading me gear. I bought a cheap Vox ac 15. And then a Japanese fender Jaguar. Just kept finding deals or trading for other gear that might suit my style more. After 2 years of doing this I have ended up with the gear of my dreams. I now have multiple Gibson Les Paul customs and vintage Marshalls. This is guitar gear I could never afford or obtain even before my issues with drugs and Alcohol started. I have met great friends through buying and trading gear. I play in a band again for the first time in about 15 years. Music has always been a huge part of my life but it never been bigger. The hours of playing, recording, hunting for gear, researching gear, discussing trades has helped keep me sober. I have never been more grateful to have a guitar and amp yet alone what I currently own. I’m new to this forum but excited to engage in future threads and hear about other people journeys!
