Looking for tone/recording thoughts/feedback/help. I am playing a Strat copy with an SH4 on the bridge through a Dookie pedal, Boss GE-7 into the Clean Crunch (SLP) channel on a DSL40C. Recording using Audacity through a USB Fifine condenser mic.

That pedal wont give you anything close
im afraid, unless played into a cranked
Superlead or 2203, which in turn would
make the pedal redundant because that
Dookie tone is nothing but a cranked to
10 1959 or 2203.

The GE7 is a fine pedal but you need to stack it with an SD-1 to get a good punk tone. You might do better eliminating the pedals all together and play through the OD1 or OD2 red channels, dial EQ to taste.

Was browsing the Ceriatone website couple
minutes ago and saw that they offer their 1959
Superlead with the Dookie mod installed.

Idk if it is modded the right way, just wanted to
pass on the info for interested guys.

I was also interested in this mod for a while
and therefore watched liveshows of Green Day,
im not a fan of their music nor do i think they
are bad, but i thought their earlier live shows
were more exciting. In those shows the Frontman most of the time used a JCM900 DualReverb, probably bonestock.

I have one of those, an early one like Green
Day used. Mine is not delivering the socalled
Dookie Album tone at all, its way too thin at the bottom end, but i guess in the punkrock live
shows from the early 90s it worked good enough.

Dookie sound can be had fairly easy with
a standard Marshall 2203, atleast good
enough for my ears.
