Jackson Lee: Congress complicating debt ceiling because Obama is black

Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) on Friday strongly suggested that members of Congress are making it difficult for President Obama to raise the debt ceiling because he is black. She also believes the President is “disrespected” because “he is different.”

“I do not understand what I think is the maligning and maliciousness [toward] this president,” said Jackson Lee, a member of the Congressional Black Caucus. “Why is he different? And in my community, that is the question that we raise. In the minority community that is question that is being raised. Why is this president being treated so disrespectfully? Why has the debt limit been raised 60 times? Why did the leader of the Senate continually talk about his job is to bring the president down to make sure he is unelected?”

……”I am particularly sensitive to the fact that only this president — only this one, only this one — has received the kind of attacks and disagreement and inability to work, only this one,” said Jackson Lee from the House floor

See how this works people. When they don't get their way and they want you to surrender they play the race card. Now how many people will play along. I bet over this weekend all you will here from the media is them questioning all their hacks if this debate is about race. SICK.

What I would tell this race baiter is no, I love the black half of what Obama is doing to this country it is the white half that has it all screwed up. This rhetoric is not by accident I will can assure you that it was cleared from the White house before she went on the floor of Congress and said it, Shelia is not stupid. Meaning done with the President blessing. He is getting desperate.

Sad just sad. Are any of you wanting Obama to cut some debt and spending in this country because you hate black people, this is how ridiculous this is.

The last thing any red blooded American wants is for any president to fail (though we watched eight years of people being very vocal about how they wanted that president to fail at any/everything).:)

The problem now is that we are spending historic amounts of money that we don't have and some think that throwing more money at it will solve the problem. Raise the debt ceiling so we can give Acorn and the like another billion dollars?

Bailouts were started under Bush.....Acorn should be dead and as far as i have seen most of the bailout money is still there....most never taken because of stipulations.......i could be wrong on this but what i just read over 700 billion is still on the table.....and it takes years for the economy to crash........but you can feel free to school me on when a depression happened overnight

Agencies we can cut tomorrow and our economy and people would be better off.

- The Federal Reserve - Biggest con men and crooks in a suit

- Department of Energy - Doesn't produce a single kilowatt and stands in the way of energy independence

- Department of Education - The don't educate anyone either. They set the liberal objective for our schools and teachers. Lock the fucking doors and give this to the states.

- IRS - Anyone for keeping the IRS... really anyone. Go to a flat tax and put these assholes on the street to find a real job.

- EPA - No other agency is responsible more for our entire manufacturing going over seas then the EPA. Yes we all want clean water and air but this is a simple activist organization that stop progress dead in this country.

- Department of Homeland Security - Fuck these guys and everyone of the overpaid pukes who work there. Bring our troops home now and put them on our borders, ports, and airports...no more TSA bullshit.

- United Nations - Turn the building into housing for the poor and kick all there asses out of this country. UN my ass.
Forgien aid - unless its for a disater it stops now.

- Department of Interior - Managing lands, really. Sell the 30% of land the govenment own back to the poeple and let the states manage it. I will buy some of that land myself.

Well that is a start. NONE of these agenccies are constitutional anyways. Not hearing the republicans or democrats talking about any cutting here. I just hear more debt and more taxes.... don't buy it guys I just showed you a start of things to cut.

Locking the doors there should save us a lot of money and really help our economy and strengthening our real security. See how easy it is. Oh boo hoo a federal government workers is unemployed now. Good, now he can see what work is all about.

Do not raise the debt ceiling. Cut spending and government programs now.

I don't get your answer, I just stated that you left out a whole lot of things that are to blame other than just Iraq, you seem to have turned that into a Bush thing (and implying that your smarter than I am with sarcasm). That 700 billion dollars is not on the table, it might not have all been spent but it has been allocated to the bailout and isn't being diverted to other pressing issues.

The problem is that we are here in a big pile of crap (doesn't matter how we got here, we are here) and instead of cutting and trimming the fat, people want to throw more good money after bad at the problem, we have already seen that Obamas recovery plan has failed (btw, those bailouts started under Bush [TARP] much of that money has been paid back) so we need to try another strategy.

That chart is obviously trying to show that Bush tax cuts cost the most, or significantly contributed to the debt.

First off they are no longer Bush tax cuts because Obama signed off to keep them this past December so they are his now. But this is a good thing Obama did, although he was forced to do it.

There is no accurate way to calculate the revenues that would have truly showed up to the IRS.

However I ask myself who is better at spending that money and who would it benefit the most. I like the cuts because you and I can spend the money much better then Washington can. Also the money that would have been taxed down a shit hole of waste and fraud which is our government got to benefit you and your family and inject consumer money into the private sector rather then government money.

Your a libertarian guy right, you should then understand this is not a tax issue but it is a spending issue.

Time to wake up people. Do you know what money is being used today to bridge our spending because we already surpassed the debt ceiling 3 weeks ago? I will tell you, it is pension money. Thats right pensions of Federal Workers are being spent to carry us over while the insane spending continues. They already pissed away our Social Security funds and are now cleaning out the pensions.

Today every man woman and child in this country has $46,516 on their credit card they owe to the government. But since we all know that not every even pays tax in this country check this out for those of you who do.

For every single taxpayer in the US the government currently has ran up a debt on your credit card today to $129,777 and counting. Obama wants another 3 Trillion dollars from us to spend as he pleases on your credit card that must be paid back on future wages.

Obama talks about tax hikes, he talks about shared sacrifice, he talks about raising the credit card limit on your credit card (debt ceiling), he talks about deficit cutting but has not said specifically what would be cut so it is all a lie. When have you heard these people talk about spending cuts? Please to not fall for the scam when they say they are cutting spending over ten years, it will never happen. Spending cuts now have to happen.

I can't believe someone is complaining and saying this president is being disrespected.

Did she not see Bush's presidency? The way the left treated Bush was criminal.

Oh ya, look at all that debt from the bailouts and stimulus!

TAX-CUTS-DEBT.jpg

Post a chart or statastic as the basis for the support of the argument, and all credibity is lost. The source and its data manipulation is always suspect and when analyzed, invariably has a controversial method/interpretation.

For example, I see no breakdown of subsidies social programs, and other questionable spending that could and arguably should be cut. So these terrible figures assign blame on tax cuts and concede the elephant in the room spending provisions, but apparently Incorporate the "mere pennies" programs and posts as part of the overall budget.

Post the facts and all credibility is lost with true believers. That's because your perspective is [email protected].

Discretionary Spending and the Federal Budget Deficit

The one [deficit] we imagine is a deficit caused by waste, fraud, abuse, foreign aid, oil industry subsidies and vague out-of-control spending. The one we have is caused by the world’s highest health costs (by far), the world’s largest military (by far), a Social Security program built when most people died by 70 — and to pay for it all, the lowest tax rates in decades.

To put it in budgetary terms, the deficit we imagine comes largely from discretionary spending. The one we have comes partly from discretionary spending but mostly from everything else: tax rates, Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security.
