Is this normal for a DSL50?
Using the green channel in crunch mode, with the gain higher than around 12:00 or so I hear a bit of crackling along with the note during pick attack. It is more noticeable when picking the higher strings (B & E), especially when picking both at the same time. The crackling dies off very fast.
I tried swapping tubes to no avail. I also swapped guitars. I did a visual check for bad solder joints and repaired a few questionable ones, but did not touch each with the iron.
My limited research says it could be tubes, plate resistors, or coupling caps.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.
Dave
