Wanted to clean my 2266 Purple Vintage Modern but was hesitant not wanting to cause any damage. Getting a new pup tomorrow and needed to relocate the guitars and amps kept in the living room to a secluded room.
I use covers on all my amps but dust finds its way. Figured it was a good time to clean the tolex before moving it. Looked online and seamed using mild soap looked like the way to go. Used a chip brush to work in the soapy water and wiped with a Microfiber cloth to absorb any remaining fluid. Then used another cloth with straight water to remove any left over soap. Once all was wiped, sprayed a light coat of 303 Aerospace Protectant wiping it in with a clean cloth. Was pleased with the results.
Depending on lighting conditions, it's difficult to see the color of the tolex. Put the amp in the sun to dry before putting the covers back on and the color popped more than I've ever seen. Now, just need to make sure the pup does not have a hankerin to chew on it..
303 is some Good Stuff!
