Anyone actually used Psvane?

I've seen general curiosity chatter about Psvane tubes on the forum but has anyone here actually installed and used them? If so what is your opinion of them?

I've wondered this myself. The 5881 datasheet says limiting values? Is that under their test conditions or the MAX limit? And what is the Effective load Ra-a supposed to be?

Seems like data from Tung-sol copied to make us feel better.

Will they work in a 2204? plate voltage of 468?

I am considering order a duet for my JCM 2000 DSL 50 just out of pure curiosity. I like the JJ KT77 duet I have in there now but I am curious how much of the Psvane thing is marketing drivel vs. being an improved vacuum tube. Damn they are pricey though.

There was a sale on quad el34s IIRC. I tried biasing in the SLP, pins are oversized. One red plated. I salvaged 2 of the 4. They are in the stash for last resort.

They look to be the same design centre limits as the Tung Sol USA info.

And what is the Effective load Ra-a supposed to be?

No pentode anode chart, so who knows?

I have Psvane premium 6CA7-T Black Glass in my Music Man HD130, they are running at over 700 V b+ without any issues. I tried the EH 6CA7s in there and was not impressed, I put the Psvanes in and they sound much better, of course they also sell for NOS money if you can find them. I have not tried their lower grade tubes but I would think they are as good or better than a similar grade Shuguang.

So I'll wait and see if they can get that info, it would be great to see how they are compared to the usual Tung-Sol I like.

The inexpensive PSVANE 12AX7 (with the red label - not the golden Edition Art ones) have been sold in Germany for quite a while.
Some have already said that they are not so good.
They are also currently the cheapest new production tubes here.

I personally would rather buy JJs or Russian tubes - or the old Shuguang stock.

I just ordered a quad of the psvane EL34C’s from China, so they’ll be on the slow boat here, but I’ll review them when I get them, and am able to have time to fire up the superlead and do some comparisons.

ive had a pair of el34 redbase in the amp for a month or so now. put the rft's away and biased them up. had to make a resistor change to do so. they sound pretty good to me , the bass was all that i really noticed that was different. not in a bad way. i would buy them again but am waiting to see if they prove reliable. warranty is a year i believe

I noticed that Antique Electronic Supply/CE Distribution are now selling the red label Psvane line. Pretty cool. I was wondering myself how they sound and hold up. I stocked up on JJs just before the run on tubes, so I'm good for a while, but curious to know. Looks like the EL34C, Classic Series are going for $35 a pop. See attached (below) for the spec sheet with the specs of this tube.

Those are definitely premium series tubes which are primarily marketed for high end audiophile tube amps.... the reviews I have read of their premium series KT88s rate them as comparable or even exceeding NOS KT88s.... they are still priced lower than a comparable matched and strong testing pair of NOS tubes of the same type.

Big question is whether they can withstand high screen voltages (up to 600V, like the GECs). The datasheet suggests not, but then so did the GEC datasheets.

It's certainly a lot of money to spend to find out!

The Premiun Series PSVANE are the highest quality current production tubes available.... they all come with test data sheets and are very closely matched.... How long they will last in a cranked JTM 45/100 has yet to be determined.
