A little tsl 100 help please

Ok, I replaced the pcb. The amp has very little sound coming out of the speakers. I have a few open connectors on the new board. I found a post earlier with a connection chart. I followed it the best that I could but the amp still isn’t working. What am I missing here?

Did you check the pots?
Did you ever determine whether or not the previous owner had the bias mod done on it?

I’ll get some pics in a little bit. The previous owner had a bias mod done to it. Basically instead of tube pin #5 being connected through the pcb, the tech bypassed the strip in the board and went straight from the diode to #5. I wanted to hear this stock before I add in the choke and install the dr tube bias kit.

Connector #7 and 16 are empty. The paper that I found online showed con 15 to con 21 and con 16 to con 22. I don’t see the 21 or 22.

Why did you change the pcb? Was it drifting?

And where did you find the pcb? There hasn't been any available for a while. The last one I saw was a used one last week on ebay or reverb, and it wasn't a issue 20 board iirc.

I replaced it because my amp was sounding horrible. New tubes helped but it always had a noise to it, like a battery dyeing in a toy or something like that. It didn’t have any drifting and I got the pcb from amplified parts. The original pcb had some other things done to it so I figured that I would update to the newest pcb first then go from there.

well, hopefully that's all it was, that's a good thing. Embarrassing/frustrating, but, good that there's nothing wrong w/ it...

Looks like I might be dealing with this issue soon. I have a 2002 TSL 100 with the JCM2-60-00 PCB and it's started to make odd noises lately.

I believe you, I have done that before myself and just about kicked my own ass when I realized what happened...

This Tuesday I’ll have some more time to spend with the amp. Going to set the bias and get it back in the shell. Changing the pcb wasn’t bad at all, I put references marks on the old board and new one while I was disconnecting it.

The amp sounds way better than how it did when I bought it. Now I’m looking into the effects loop mod for it. Using the loop adds a bunch of unwanted noise and tones that I definitely don’t like.
