He left the Daily Show with suspicious timing.
I mean that its not like I dislike him totally but he quit, disappeared practically and what followed on the Daily Show was very disappointing, even disturbing.
And the flake that followed him back then, Col bert, took over the late show and that chameleon's true colors came out.

Wired the jacks and pots. The pots are in a different order than on a Marshall, totally simplifies the wiring between the pots.

Finally got off my butt and did some work on this amp. Wired the heaters so it’s about time to drop in the board and make the final connections.



Weber finished the speakers and FedEx is delivering tomorrow so I also shellacked the cabinet in preparation.

Speakers arrived today. I plan to use a single 1/4” jack instead of the 4 RCA connectors as I don’t seem to have good luck with the RCA style. I will wire the four 8ohm speakers in parallel to get a 2ohm load. This mix of speaker types was what Weber suggested for this amp. The only problem is that the cab has 25 pounds of speakers in it, this amp will be heavy. I hope that the tone makes it worthwhile to lug around.

I'm very surprised that with the number of builds you have under your belt and how much time you spend around here, you are still using transformer mount bolts for ground connections! There are multiple reasons that this is not a good practice and I won't bother to list them, as you've been around long enough to have heard them all before!

Very funny, I only have a couple of center taps on those bolts.

I wired the speakers in series and will only be using a single 1/4” jack. That shouldn’t be a problem as long as the total load is 2ohms, right?

Worked on finishing up the rest of the wiring today for almost everything. I’m short a 1 watt 470ohm grid stopper because I accidentally used it on the PI instead of the 1/2 watt carbon comp that was supplied. Put in an order to Tube Depot and will have to wait a few more days to get everything done.

Ended up using two spare Marshall knobs I had for the 2204 style preamp section.

small nit to pick but those appear wired in parallel, which is probably good if you're hooking up to a 2 ohm secondary (unless they're half ohm speakers)

but yes, as long as your load impedance is 2 ohms hooking up to the 2 ohm secondary should be fine

Oops, right, I wired them in parallel.
