This is first amp I ever bought , about 40 years ago ! It's been a solid amp , don't think I've ever had any problems with it. I had a tech replace the Filter caps years ago ( Before I got to know Uncle Doug). Now I've had it out of the chassis ,for a cleaning of the pots . I looked at the filter caps ,and this dosen't look straight out of the schematic (AA763 ? ) .
It has USA made Sylvania 6L6 GC (2) power tubes. Bias : It was running 378 V at 47mA. on the bias probe.
Filter Caps. The schematic calls for 5x 16uf ,450v caps , this one has 2x 16uf /475v ,1 x 47uF/ 450v and one 100uF /450v( in place of two caps).
What do the experts think of this ?
As for the bias , I can't lower the mA much- can go higher (it has some newer resistors-photo) . 30w/378v x ,6 = 0.047 or 47mA. Think I sett it at 50ma / 390v.
Any thoughts ?
