Current guitars using Kahler as OEM bridge

Back in the 80's, Ibanez made a Vinnie Moore signature model that was like that, a Floyd but no locking nut. You can also order them that way from Kiesel. I don't see the point.

This. Having the locking nut behind the regular nut almost defeats the whole purpose. The nut grooves cause probably about 90% of tuning instability, especially on the wound strings.

The particularities about Eddie Van Halen plexi 12301

I had a friend back in the 80's who played a JCM 800 2210 half stack. He ran a Boss GE-7 EQ up front with the volume on the pedal maxed. It sounded incredible, but the hiss was too much for my taste. Still, it really did sound killer.

The particularities about Eddie Van Halen plexi 12301

Yeah, it's almost like a "fizzy with clarity" sort of thing. There's fizz around the edges and punch in the center. It's hard to describe.

The particularities about Eddie Van Halen plexi 12301

I've said it before and I'll say it again. When you listen to the early Van Halen recordings, you're hearing exactly that. Recordings. The mic type, mic placement, the room, the guitar, the pickup, the strings, the mixing board, and who knows what else. There's nothing whatsoever wrong in...

    Soldano SLO 100 your thoughts

Agreed. The 5150 Iconic nails that sound much better for maybe 25% of the price.

RANT: Why does anyone make a pickup with ONE hole per side????

Not these. The springs for direct-mount pickups are typically straight. But I solved the problem and got it mounted.

    NAD - JVM210H ( First 2 weeks impression )

This. I won't bore anyone with the details, but far too many times in my life I've tried to convince myself that I loved a piece of gear because: 1. Everyone else loves it. 2. It cost a lot of money. 3. It was hard to find. 4. Other. I'm far more honest these days. I decide very quickly if I...

    NAD - JVM210H ( First 2 weeks impression )

I see a lot of of discussion about how much gain these amps have. But for me, it's not at all about the amount of gain, but the character of that gain. I can get exactly what I want with a Boss GE-7 EQ and a good overdrive pedal. I can tweak and contour it to my liking, and I typically only use...

    Multi-Effects Pedal - Zoom

Definitely. That's been my experience with every modeler on the planet.

    NAD - JVM210H ( First 2 weeks impression )

That's just it. Two channels are all I need. I need Clean, of course, but the switch between Crunch and Lead is done with pedal settings, not on the amp.

    NAD - JVM210H ( First 2 weeks impression )

I owned a JVM410 for a few years, the flagship head. I just never fell in love with it. Then back last year I got a JCM 2000 DSL 100, and I'm going "Where have you been all my life?!" If I had only known. Clean, Lead, Crunch, you name it. I love this amp and I'm considering getting another one...

    SOLDANO Super Lead OVERDRIVE PEDAL

I finally tried mine out this evening. It's a very good pedal with a lot of potential. I'm not quite ready to say that it's as good as the Revv G3, but I honestly doubt it at this point. Does it sound like an actual SLO amp? I have no idea because I've never had the opportunity to play one...

    He shoots, He SCORES!

I only run them in mono anyway, so what would be the advantage of hard-wiring them as such?

    He shoots, He SCORES!

I bought my 1960A slant cab back in 2014 for $399.00 at GC. It's a 2006 model and it's still like brand new condition. The 'B' cabs could have probably been had for $500.00 then.
